Jackknifed tractor-trailer causes delays on Sawgrass Expressway

Traffic was backed up on the Sawgrass Expressway in Broward County Monday afternoon due to a crash involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

The crash was reported in the northbound lanes at University Drive and traffic was backed up to Coral Ridge Drive.

A Florida Highway Patrol representative said the tractor-trailer side-swiped another vehicle, causing it to jackknife and slam into a side guardrail.

Troopers said one of the saddle fuel tanks on the truck was punctured and some fuel spilled onto the highway.

No injuries were reported.
