Monday, October 16th, 2017

A series of roadside drug tests yielded positive results for the street drug, landing him in jail for ten hours.
But another test determined it was only glaze from a Krispy Kreme doughnut.
Dan Rushing, 65, was arrested in December 2015 following a traffic stop after Orlando cop Cpl. Shelby Riggs-Hopkins observed flakes on his floorboard, which she first suspected was crack, then crystal meth.
Rushing insisted to officers it was sugar from Krispy Kreme doughnuts he’d eaten.

Saturday, October 14th, 2017
Just two days after he was fired on Tuesday, the Utah cop who arrested a burn unit nurse for refusing to allow a blood draw on an unconscious patient, filed an appeal to get his job back late Thursday.
His argument: had it not been for his camera, he would still have a job.
Jeff Payne and his attorney, Greg Swords, appealed the termination late Thursday and requested a hearing before the Salt Lake City Civil Service Commission.
Skordas claims his client would have never  been fired if Payne’s body camera footage had not received so much attention on news and social media.

NYPD Cops Accused of Raping Handcuffed Woman Claim it was Consensual

An 18-year-old woman said a pair of New York City cops handcuffed her before raping her, including forcing her to perform oral sex on them.
But the cops claim she consented to the sexual acts.
However, it seems highly unlikely that a handcuffed woman can consent to sex with two authority figures threatening to jail her for drugs, which possibly include prescription drugs and/or marijuana.
“There was zero consent,” the woman’s attorney Michael David told the New York Post. “The cops were over 6 feet tall. She’s very petite, like 5-2 and maybe 100 pounds. There’s nothing she could do.”

Texas Set to Execute Man Despite DNA Evidence Excluding him from Murder

Friday, September 29th, 2017
A Texas man on death row is scheduled to be executed on November 16, even though DNA evidence excludes him from a 1998 murder for which he was convicted.
In 2000, Larry Swearingen was sentenced to the death penalty for the murder and rape of 19-year-old Melissa Trotter.
Since then, Swearingen has maintained his innocence and fought for DNA testing of evidence including Trotter’s clothes, the murder weapon and a rape kit.
Texas courts have struck down his repeated requests.
But some DNA testing has been performed.
And it supports Trotter’s innocence, according to the Innocence Project.
Blood from beneath Trotter’s fingernails excluded Swearingen and yielded
