Federal Immigration Agents in Texas Arrest Couple at Hospital Awaiting Life-Saving Surgery for Infant Son

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents in Texas arrested an undocumented couple while they were waiting for life-saving surgery for their infant son, according to NPR.
Oscar and Irma Sanchez were arrested in May by ICE after no hospital in the Rio Grande Valley – where the couple lives – could perform the life-saving surgery on their son Isaac Enrique Sanchez, who was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis.
Pyloric stenosis causes vomiting, dehydration and weight loss in infants and can be potentially fatal.

A Huntington Beach police officer was captured on video shooting a man several times in front of a 7-11 after struggling with him on the ground early Friday morning.
The Southern California police department has not released many details yet but confirmed the man died at a hospital.
A citizen recorded two videos and posted them to Twitter today, one showing the two struggling, the other showing the cop shooting the man multiple times while telling him to “get down.”

Oklahoma cops fatally shot a developmentally disabled and deaf man who was 15 ft. away from them after he failed to comply with officers’ commands Tuesday night.

Florida Sheriff who Targeted Evacuees with Warrants at Shelters Sued for Violating Fourth Amendment

A Florida sheriff who bluntly tweeted about arresting evacuees with warrants who were seeking shelter from Hurricane Irma is being sued for violating the Fourth Amendment by requiring background checks to enter hurricane shelters.
But Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd claims the lawsuit is “frivolous”.

Watch: Massachusetts Cop Caught on Video Hitting Witness at Accident Scene

A Massachusetts cop is on paid leave for striking a witness who began recording at a motorcycle accident scene on Monday.
Video of  Lawrence cop Alberto Inostroza, a 29-year-veteran, shows him becoming increasingly agitated and losing control then striking witness Michael Centeno, who began recording Inostroza .
Centeno’s friend was involved in the accident, but was not seriously injured.
Inostroza became confrontational with other friends of the motorcycle crash victim who asked for an ambulance and expressed concern about the way a paramedic was handling the victim, according to the Eagle Tribune.

North Carolina Sheriff Investigated For Public Record Violations

A North Carolina sheriff is facing a criminal investigation this week over the way he handled a public records request submitted to his office by Charlotte news outlet WBTV.  Ashe County Sheriff Terry Buchanan received the public records request, for all text messages from his county cell phone, in April but instead of producing the records, the sheriff opened a criminal investigation into the actions of city employees who tried to fill the request.

Ohio Deputy Shoots Photojournalist Trying to Photograph Traffic Stop

Fearing for his life over a video camera, an Ohio sheriffs deputy shot a photojournalist Monday night who was setting up his camera on a tripod.
New Carlisle News photographer Andy Grimm was struck on the side and was rushed to the hospital where he is expected to survive.
Clark County sheriff’s deputy Jake Shaw apparently confused the camera for a gun.
