Miami Marlins Cancel Fireworks Show Because Of Sleepy Old People

Monday, August 3rd, 2015

There ain’t no party like a Miami Marlins party- as long as that party ends before 11 PM.
The Fish were all excited for another edition of their “Fireworks Friday” promotion and planned to have a show after the conclusion of tonight’s game.
Unfortunately, the contest ran a bit long- 11 innings to be exact in a 8-3 loss to the San Diego Padres.
Since the game finished late, the Marlins had to announce that the fireworks show was cancelled because of a “city ordinance” that forbids the use of fireworks after 11 PM.

Due to a city noise ordinance, tonight’s Fireworks Friday at @MarlinsPark has unfortunately been cancelled.

Marlins fans took it in stride- as expected.

@MarlinsPark How about we attach those fireworks to Dan Jennings and set them off anyway?
