More Hurricane Melissa Impacts… Bahamas, Cuba, Haiti…BAHAMAS: Hurricane Conditions are likely today for Long Island, Crooked Island, Rum Key, and San Salvador Island. Tropical Storm Conditions are likely for Grand Exuma, Little Exuma, and Cat Island. Please be safe as Melissa impacts move in! Gust will be around 100 mph. CUBA: Hurricane Winds will be exiting this morning as Melissa leaves Eastern Cuba. Landfall was around Santiago de Cuba. Flooding continues. Monitoring closely!HAITI: The feeder bands from Melissa are causing Serious Flooding along the Tiburon Peninsula. Please be safe! Rockslides are likely, along with extremely dangerous Rivers. Some communities may be cut off from other areas, and certain well-water locations may not be accessible. BERMUDA: Heaviest weather may stay west, but Hurricane Melissa will be close Thursday Night. If this gets closer, winds could be as high as 70 mph, but more likely we are looking at gusts around 50 mph. Monitoring closely.CANADA: Melissa will combine with a storm system that is sweeping through the United States. It will add to the winds on Friday. Winds along the coast of Newfoundland, especially the Avalon Peninsula, could be from 50-70 mph, or 80-112 kmh. We continue to see the scenes coming out of Jamaica.
