Reported tornado in Cape Coral during Friday’s severe thunderstorms

According to the National Weather Service, it was a landspout tornado. A landspout is a weaker type of tornado that forms differently than traditional twisters. Rather than developing from rotation within an organized storm, a landspout begins on the ground and stretches upward, often with a rope-like condensation funnel.
