38 years in prison for the murder of a 16-year-old girl.
Anthonieska Avilés pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and firearms violations in the killing of Gabriela Nicole Pratts in Puerto Rico.
Authorities say Pratts was stabbed eight times in the early morning hours of August 11, 2025, after a fight among young people following a party.
Prosecutors said the killing involved both Avilés and her mother, Elvia Cabrera Rivera, who was previously sentenced to 102 years in prison for her role in Pratts’ death.
A case that began with a fight ended in a teenager’s death — and now both a mother and daughter are behind bars.
