Miami Weather: Flood Watch Through Monday, Coastal Flood Advisory Until 7 PM Monday

A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties from 10:00 AM EST Sunday through 3:00 PM EST Monday (NWS Miami, issued 12:43 AM Sunday), as bands of heavy rain may cause urban and street flooding — 3 to 5 inches of rain are possible through Monday, with isolated totals of 5 to 7 inches. Short-term Flood Advisories were also in effect for parts of Miami-Dade late Sunday morning. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for coastal Miami-Dade until 7:00 PM EST Monday — minor to moderate coastal flooding is expected, with flooding of lots, parks and roads and only isolated road closures expected, so do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth, and allow extra time. High tide at Government Cut is at 1:18 PM Sunday. A high rip current risk is also in effect through Monday evening — dangerous rip currents are possible at Atlantic beaches, so swim only near a lifeguard. Clocks fell back one hour overnight at 2:00 AM Sunday.

Otherwise it is stormy in Miami: thunderstorms, 75°F around midday, humidity around 94%, east winds around 12 mph gusting to 20 mph, and a 100% chance of rain today with heavy thunderstorms. Today’s high: 78°F. Tonight’s low: 74°F. Sunrise was 6:29 AM; sunset is 5:39 PM.

Tomorrow — Monday, November 2: heavy thunderstorms, high 78°F, low 76°F, rain chance about 80%, with the Flood Watch in effect until 3:00 PM and the Coastal Flood Advisory until 7:00 PM. Sunrise is 6:30 AM and sunset 5:38 PM. The wet pattern continues: scattered thunderstorms on Election Day Tuesday (high 82°F) and Wednesday (high 84°F), before mostly sunny skies Thursday (high 85°F).
