A Fort Lauderdale resident says $50M in new stormwater pumps "failed the test" after heavy rain flooded his River Oaks neighborhood on Friday.
City officials say the pumps worked properly, explaining that receiving 6 inches of rain in just one hour overpowered the system and delayed drainage on lower-elevation streets. Temporary pumps are being brought in for future storms.
