Donalds leads Jolly in 2026 Florida governor’s race, new poll finds

A new statewide poll shows Republican Byron Donalds ahead of Democrat David Jolly in the race for who will be Florida’s next governor. The NBC6/Telemundo Station Group poll, conducted last week by polling and strategy firm Mason-Dixon and released Tuesday, found Donalds with a 48% to 41% lead over Jolly, with another 1% supporting an independent candidate while 10% remain undecided. Donalds and Jolly are both trying to succeed Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is ineligible to seek another term after eight years in office. Also, Florida voters split when it comes to the job President Donald Trump has been doing, as a crucial midterm election that will help shape his final two years in office nears. The poll showed 48% approving of the president's job, 48% disapproving and 4% not sure.
